When you are feeling overwhelmed, consider asking for help (and then trusting others to help you). This is not an easy one for some off you reading this post. Let’s imagine, shall we, that some of you who are reading this have been seen for years as being able to do everything, including:

Handling multiple projects at work

Taking on additional responsibilities at work when someone else has shirked them or is unable to complete the task.

Being a go-to person at work, in the neighborhood, and in various church or civic groups.

Maintaining a home, with or without children, either as a single person or as someone with a spouse, significant other, partner, or the the new word I just saw yesterday in a www.MyFavoriteThesaurus.com article: “inti-mate.” And the list goes on.

The key phrase above is that you have been seen for years as being able to handle everything. And sometimes, we start to believe other people when they say to us, “Wow. You handle everything.” And it makes us afraid to ask for help, or to trust that someone will be able and willing to help us.

Here’s what I would ask: “How long do you want to go on being overwhelmed?” If you are ready to move to being ‘just whelmed,’ please take a look at asking someone for help…and thereby trusting others to help you.

And if you know you are overwhelmed – and part of it is because you never ask for (or expect) help, and you would like to learn more so you can be ‘just whelmed,’ then you’re invited to join others (worldwide) who receive Meggin’s weekly emails (free!) at
