Staying Positive in a Freaked-Out World (It Works!)

Posted on December 21st, 2008, by Meggin McIntosh, Ph.D.

One of my long-time friends from the university where I used to work sent me this email after listening to the “Staying Positive in a Freaked-Out World” teleseminar I did over Thanksgiving Weekend (contact me for more information).  She said I could post this to our blog (- her name):

I wanted to relay a story to you that happened to me recently. I am convinced it was due to something you had suggested to improve one’s mood and deal with the overwhelming negativity many of us are feeling (the freaked-out world seminar). I had been listening to your seminar about trying to be more appreciative to others, no matter whom they were and smile more, etc. I had decided to work on my attitude a bit and be more gracious to folks who were helping me. I recently went to the bank and was visiting with this young teller. I was very upbeat at the time, working on my attitude as recommended by your seminar. About two days later I got this wonderful Christmas card from this young bank teller saying how much she enjoyed visiting with me and how delightful I was.

At first I thought she must have the wrong person but I then realized it happened on the day I had tried to work on my attitude. Anyway, her card just made my whole week and I thought you would like to know this story.

Thanks for the terrific seminar. It has been so helpful for me; you have know idea how much.  I wish you a wonderful holiday and look forward to more of those upbeat teleseminars of yours.

YAY!  It works!  Let’s all try it.  It does make a difference to us and to others.
