Marketing to Parent Teacher Organizations
Suggestion/Marketing to PTO’s:
For those of us who work with schools (which I’m sure is most of us), consider marketing your products to the Parent Teacher Organizations. Here is what I did. I’ve found that the best way to find out the name of the president of the organization is to call the school. Usually, the person who answers the phone will know the name of the person. Many times the president is an employee of the school. After you find the name of the president, ask if you mail a letter to the school will the president get the letter. Every school I called said “yes.” Then, double check the address of the campus. After that, I mailed a letter, order form and my tips booklet. I’ll keep you posted and let you know what response I get. Here is the letter I sent.

As I’m sure you know bullying causes physical and emotional pain to our students. Bullying also costs districts thousands (and sometimes millions) of dollars in money due to student absences and lawsuits.
As a former bully and victim of bullying, I know first-hand the pain that bulling causes. As a former educator, I witnessed bullying at every grade level. Now as a professional speaker, my passion is to eliminate bullying from our schools.
As president of the William Adams Middle School PTA, I’m quite sure that one of your concerns is the safety of the students. By educating our students, teachers and parents about how to eliminate bullying, our students WILL be safer and their educational experience will be much more enjoyable.
My tips booklet, 100 Ways to Eliminate Bullying In and Out of School would be a great Christmas gift from the PTA to the staff members. In addition to being a great gift, the booklet will educate the staff about how they can help eliminate bullying and support the bullies, victims and bystanders. The booklet is also a great gift for parents.
