Articles for Professional Journals

Question:

Karen Ash and I have started meeting on Wednesday afternoons to read and give feedback to each other on our writings.  We’ve only met twice, but it is going well.  With her input on the article about the distributive property, we decided there is so much information, that I will need to break it into several articles.  I have two others nearly finished: using correct math vocabulary, and what is differentiation?  Do you get the Educational Leadership magazine?  There was an article starting on page 67 (From Arithmetic to Algebra)of this latest addition that describes my philosophy about teaching math.  Thank you for your feedback.

Answer:

And sorry to be tardy on my response…

Anyway…Yes, I get Ed Leadership.  I will dig out that copy and take a look.  Tell me more about what your question is.  Are you wondering about submitting to Educational Leadership?  I would HIGHLY recommend it because it is one of the most widely-read journals in education.

They publish a calendar of topics and sometimes, it’s a good idea to submit something that goes along with one of their themes, but they also accept and publish articles that are “off-theme,” when they are still timely.  And anything with mathematics is always timely.

Let me know a little more of what you’re asking and I’ll respond more clearly.

Thanks!
